I have not learned landscape architecture, nor have I knowledge of construction.
I am a disgrace with tools and an idiot amongst mechanics.
I know nothing of irrigation and lack experience in water management.
I know not the ways of man; I am pitied amongst managers.
Business men laugh at my practices and scorn my presence.
My best defense is silence; my wisest action is a hand over my mouth.

Yet, I plead with the young and aspiring, those eager to become Superintendents.
Listen to my foolishness and learn from my stupidity.
